BILLINGS - This year's MontanaFair is not expected to break attendance records, but officials tell Q2 that this year's show is on track for a very good year.

Through Thursday, as many as181-thousand people had attended the fair.

That's down about 15-hundred from last year, and far off the record pace of 272-thousand set in 2008.

But ticket sales for the concerts, rodeo and super cross are up this year.

The Thomas Carnival, meanwhile, is on pace to have its best year.

Carnival officials report revenue thru the first seven days of the fair at $710-thousand dollars, surpassing the carnival's performance from 2008.

Q-2's David Jay talked with the owner of the Thomas Carnival this afternoon to learn more about this year's fair numbers.
