Montana man sentenced for hitting girlfriend, baby

KALISPELL - A Kalispell man has been sentenced to three years in jail for beating his girlfriend and striking her 11-month-old son.

Court documents state that Matthew Barrows came home drunk and hit his girlfriend at least ten times.

A witness said Barrows continued to hit his her as she lay on the ground, trying to protect her baby, and says he also struck the 11-month-old.

Barrows pleaded no contest to felony counts of Partner or Family Member Assault and criminal endangerment.

He has been convicted on Partner or Family Member Assault on at least two previous occasions.
