BUTTE - David Snipes of Butte has been arrested after he reportedly broke into a house and fell asleep in a closet.

Snipes, 47, was staying at a home on Porphyry while he was helping the owner remodel, police said.

The owner fired Snipes when items from his home started to disappear and the owner filed a police report.

Officers drove by the home Monday and discovered that a window had been forced open.

Snipes' wallet was reportedly sitting on the window ledge.

Upon further investigation, officers found Snipes intoxicated and sleeping in a closet in the home.

Snipes is charged with criminal trespass, a misdemeanor.

An investigation regarding theft from the home is underway.
