MONTANA - As travel is common among the Big Sky, even in the winter months, construction is still part of the roadways, regardless of the season. This information is provided as a courtesy of the Montana Department of Transportation and includes information available at the time of preparation.
Minor delays can be expected though these projects with anything over 15 minutes being noted in the description. Watch for equipment, flaggers, workers along the road, and reduced speed limits.
I-90, 1 mile south of Lodge Grass Interchange to 11.7 miles south. Winter shutdown.
US 87-N, North of Billings. Guardrail and signing installation is ongoing as weather allows. Single lane closures. Seal and cover in the spring.
US 212, South of Red Lodge. Winter shutdown.
US 310/212, North of Yellowstone River Bridge. South of Laurel. Bridge deck seal work is delayed for favorable weather window. There will be single lane traffic and reduced speed when the project resumes.
MT-72, from 16 miles north of the Wyoming state line to Jct. with 310. Project is inactive at this time.
MT-72, Belfry to approximately 3 miles north, bridge subcontractor will continue working on new bridges. Motorcycles should consider an alternate route.
Secondary 384, winter shutdown. Chip seal in the spring.
Secondary 522, Old Highway 312, west of Huntley. Widening, resurfacing, work on irrigation pipe, lighting and signal.
