MISSOULA, MT - The three kids who were the subject of a Missing/Endangered Persons Alert issued by the Montana Department of Justice on Tuesday have been found safe.
Missoula police say they arrested the mother, Athena Oldhorn, and her boyfriend, Lawrence Jakub, who now each face a felony custodial interference charge. The young children, who are still in state custody were reported missing by the Department of Child and Family Services.
Police say Oldhorn was allowed temporary custody of her three children as part of a reunification process that's being supervised by the state, but she didn't show up for some of her court hearings.
Detectives say an employee at a Missoula motel saw the information on the missing children and reported that the family checked into the motel. Police say the children are fine and are now back with their foster parents.
