FRENCHTOWN - The search for a missing Frenchtown man has ended in tragedy, with police saying they found the body of Josh Carter at around 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
The Missoula County Sheriff's Office says a rancher off Lacasse Lane in Frenchtown was walking the fence line of his property when he spotted Carter's truck at the bottom of a steep embankment in the area of Pulp Mill Road.
Authorities say they found Carter's body not far from the crash site, adding it appears that Carter lost control of his pickup truck and hit a guard rail, which flipped the truck and sent it rolling down the embankment.
Carter was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the truck. Friends and family had been looking for Carter since September 7th when he seen leaving a bar in Frenchtown.
The Montana Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the discovery of Carter's body.
