Missing Belgrade man found dead

BELGRADE - A Belgrade man who was reported missing in January has been found dead.

Richard Wilkins, 47, was reported missing on Jan. 7. On Feb. 27, an unattended vehicle was found on private property in a field near Dry Creek Road and Cox Road, according to the Gallatin County Sheriff's Office. It was determined that the vehicle belonged to Wilkins.

Wilkins' body was found about 50 yards from the vehicle. An autopsy at the Montana State Crime Lab found that he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
