BILLINGS- Miss Wyoming and Miss Montana both stepped on to the big stage for the Miss America Pageant and walked away as stars.
21-year-old Lexie Madden of Torrington, Wyoming finished as the 3rd runner-up at the competition on Saturday night in a field of 53 pageant standouts from all 50 U.S. states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Madden receives a $15,000 scholarship for her position in the competition.
And 18-year-old Alexis Wineman of Cut Bank, Montana wasn't just the youngest contestant at this year's pageant, she was also the first ever candidate in the 92-year-old competition living with autism.
Wineman managed to make the semi-finals, or final 16 contestants, through a fan vote which chose two of the semi- finalists.
The other candidate chosen by the fans, Miss Iowa, was the first contestant to live with Tourette Syndrome.
The top award of the evening went to Miss New York as she was crowned Miss America 2013.
