BILLINGS - The Midland Roundtable has unveiled finalists for the group's male and female Athlete of the Year awards.
Maddy Emerick, Jace Henderson and Morgan Sulser have been chosen from Billings Senior, along with Central's Allie Lucas and Jenna Marsh. Four of the female nominees will attend the University of Montana on athletic scholarships. Marsh is headed to the University of Utah on a swimming scholarship.
West's Koby Reyes, Senior's Joe Zimmer, Central's Zach Wahl are joined by Skyview's Matt Dillon and Reece Quade as male finalists.
Roundtable members vote on five graduating male and female finalists each year based on nominations submitted by high school coaches. Members then vote on a winner for each.
This year marks the banquet's 25th anniversary. All former male and female winners have been invited as part of the celebration. Former winners and one guest will be admitted free and the cost of their dinner will be covered by the organization. Roundtable members confirm that about half of the 51 former winners (there has been one tie) have said they will be in attendance.
The Athlete of the Year dinner will be held May 21 at the Billings Hotel and Convention Center at 7 p.m.
Q2 will introduce each finalist seperately beginning Sunday at 5:30 and 10 p.m. in Sports.
