KALISPELL - A masked Kalispell man claiming to be out fighting crime was arrested over the weekend while authorities were responding to another crime.
Officers were in the process of arresting four teenagers who were reportedly breaking into cars and stealing things when they came across the man.
He was wearing a black vest and clothing, a skull mask, and had handcuffs and a knife on him.
The Kalispell Police Department says that the man had been taken in for questioning back in May, and he had agreed not to dress or behave that way anymore.
But when officers saw him out again over the weekend, they arrested him and charged him with obstructing a peace officer.
Kalispell Police Chief Roger Nasset said, "We actually found out that he had contact with the suspects and made his own determination that they weren't doing anything wrong. So when he's getting involved with criminal investigations and he's scaring the reporting party on this call, then it is a concern for us."
The teens accused of breaking into the vehicles were arrested and charged with theft.
