Mark and Thomas Heavy Runner sentenced in connection with Browning murder

Mark Saint Storm Heavy Runner and Thomas Charles Marc Heavy Runner were sentenced in federal court in Great Falls on Tuesday in connection with the death of Marie Heavy Runner.

Marie's body was found in a crawl space below a Browning home in November; neighbors told us they hadn't seen her since June.
During an FBI interview, Mark Heavy Runner, admitted to the murder.

He reportedly told authorities they had gotten into an argument on July 1st.

The U.S. Attorney's report reveals that Mark admitted to strangling Marie with a rope, then putting her head in a bathtub full of water.
Court documents say he then wrapped her body in blankets and hid her under the house.

During the federal court session on Tuesday, Mark Saint Storm Heavy Runner was sentenced to 210 months (17.5 years) in prison and five years of supervised release in connection with his guilty plea to first and second degree murder.

Thomas was sentenced to 78 months (6.5 years) in prison and five years of supervised release in connection with his plea to accessory after the fact to the crime of murder.
