Missoula County Sheriff's Office Detective Jason Johnson said they received a call Saturday night around 9:30 of individuals playing on the train tracks and trying to see how close they could get to the passing trains. On Sunday just after 6:00 a.m. they received a call of a body found on the tracks.
It's unknown if the man's death is directly related to the prior calls the sheriff's office received.
The man's identity has not been released but Johnson said the man was attending the Love Your Mother Earth Arts and Culture Festival near Rock Creek.
The festival includes live music and various events focusing on living green and participants often spend the weekend camping out.
Organizers told us they're deeply saddened by the loss and are trying to work through the tragedy.
Johnson said the sheriff's office should have more information on the man's identity on Monday.
