Man killed by captive grizzly bear near Bozeman

BOZEMAN - A man was attacked and killed by a captive grizzly bear near Bozeman on Sunday.

Gallatin County Sheriff's Deputies, Fish and Game Wardens, and Bridger Canyon Fire Dept responded to the reported mauling northeast of Bridger Bowl at the Animals of Montana facility.

A 24-year-old man originally from Pennsylvania was mauled and killed by one or both captive-bred grizzly bears at the facility.

The man was reportedly cleaning the bear's enclosure when the attack occurred.

The name of the victim will not be released until next of kin can be notified.
