BILLINGS- Yellowstone County Coroner Bill Jones says the man killed in the early Wednesday morning head-on collision on Main Street in the heights was 31-year-old Stephen S. Beaumont of Pryor.

Just before 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1st, officers responded to a head-on collision reported on Main Street between Aronson Lane and Sixth Avenue North.

According to a press release from the BIllings Police Department, preliminary investigation shows that a white pickup truck was headed south on Main Street, when it collided head-on with a blue passenger car that was allegedly driving North in the southbound lanes of Main Street.

American Medical Response determined the driver of the blue car, Beaumont, to be dead at the scene, and a passenger in the same car was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital with injuries unknown at this time, the press release states.

The driver of the white pickup, who was on his way to work at the time, sustained minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital.

According to the BPD, alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash.
