NEAR MILES CITY - An 18-year-old Terry man is dead after being struck by a vehicle Friday night north of Miles City.
The Montana Highway Patrol reports the incident happened at about 11 p.m., roughly three miles north of the intersection of Deadman Road and Highway 59.
Trooper Michael Howell says the victim was at a bonfire party on some Bureau of Land Management property when the incident occurred.
The victim was found by some other people at the party and taken to Holy Rosary Healthcare in Miles City.
He died before he arrived at the hospital.
Trooper Howell says it appears the incident was not intentional. No one at the party claims to have been aware of hitting anything.
Interviews are still being conducted as detectives attempt to determine who ran the victim over.
Underage drinking was taking place at the party, according to Trooper Howell.
The name of the victim has not been released.
