BILLINGS - So often those affected by cancer have needs that many never think about, like maintaining a clean house. One non-profit organization is doing just that.
Responsible for helping more than 12,000 women and donating over $3.2 million in cleaning services, Cleaning For A Reason gives cancer patients a little help, with a little heart. The organization partners with local cleaning companies throughout the United States to offer these helpful services. In Billings, one of those cleaning services is Elite Home Services.
"For people that are interested in getting involved in this program, they just go to the Cleaning for a Reason website, and they sign up and they'll receive four free cleanings -- one cleaning a month." said Scott Smith, owner of Elite Home Services.
Those cleanings meant a lot to Cruz Musfeldt, the second Billings woman to receive services from Cleaning For A Reason, back in 2011 when she was battling the disease.
"Physically, I was not able to do any house cleaning," Musfeldt said, "the vacuum, the dusting, I could not do that."
When it comes to those offering help, like Schaunna Lynch, cleaning specialist for Elite, she said cancer patients who contact Cleaning For A Reason can trust her to take care of their cleaning needs.
"I would definitely make sure that they get more then what they expect," Lynch said. "We go above and beyond to make sure that they're really taken care of."
