Lake County officials make arrest in unsolved murder

POLSON - A 21-year old St. Ignatius man is in custody on murder charges, accused of killing and then burning an elderly man in the Mission Valley near 5-years ago.

Confederated Salish Kootenai Tribal Police arrested Nathan Ross in Ronan shortly after 5 o'clock Monday afternoon. Authorities believe Ross is the man who killed 73-year old Harold
Mitchell Jr. back in 2005 to cover up a robbery.

Investigators say Ross cut Mitchell's neck and then set his trailer on fire to try to destroy the evidence. It's believed three others were involved in the killing, but authorities have yet to file any additional charges.
