BOZEMAN - The Montana State Department of Athletics announced the appointment of Matt Klein as the new Associate Athletic Director of Business Operations. Klein replaced Christina Fournier who took a new position within the University after 11 years with Bobcat Athletics.
Klein comes to MSU from Colorado State where he was the Assistant Athletic Business Manager for CSU Athletics. For the Rams, he spent two years in the business office, working with women's basketball, men's and women's golf, softball, swimming and diving, water polo. In addition to the specific athletic programs, he also assisted budget tracking and management for equipment operations, media relations and general administration.
Prior to his many duties with Colorado State's Business Operations, he served as the Director of Operations for the Rams'
Women's Basketball program. He also has experience in game day operations at both the collegiate and professional level. Professionally, he served as the Director of Lacrosse Operations and Tournament Director for the Colorado Mammoth and NDP Lacrosse.
"We're fortunate to have Matt join us at Montana State," said Director of Athletics Peter Fields. "He possesses the skill set we were looking for and is working hard to get settled into the department, where he is clearly a great fit."
Klein is a 2007 graduate of Colorado State with a B.S. in Business Administration and earned his Master's in Sport and Exercise Science from Big Sky Conference member Northern Colorado.
Klein has already begun his duties with Montana State.
