KALISPELL- The Department of Commerce donates $25,000 to the Kalispell School District to help improve its facilities in the long run.
Since December, school administrators, teachers and community leaders held meetings to create a comprehensive long-range facility plan.
The primary focuses for improvement are building issues, such as central heating and boiler repairs, and growing elementary class sizes, but the Board of Trustees needed a clear understanding of needs and projected costs before they could move forward.
These new funds will help with the costs needed to assess the current conditions and estimate any repairs and upgrades.
