MISSOULA - The University of Montana has reinstated quarterback Jordan Johnson to its football team.
Johnson was acquitted of rape charges on Friday following a 12-day trial in Missoula.
UM's athletic department released the following four-sentence statement at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning:
"The University of Montana's Athletic Conduct Team has reinstated Jordan Johnson to the football team after hearing his appeal on Monday. UM President Royce Engstrom also approved the reinstatement. Johnson appealed his suspension from the team over the weekend. He is back on the team effective immediately."
