GREAT FALLS- With 71% of precincts in Montana fully reported, U.S. Senator Jon Tester is declaring victory in his run for re-election to the U.S. Senate.
Tester is holding a 9:30 a.m. news conference in Great Falls Wednesday at the Holiday Inn on 10th Avenue South.
As of 9:00a.m., Tester (D) had 212,906 votes, challenger Denny Rehberg (R) had 195,933 votes and Libertarian Dan Cox had 28,321 votes.
CBS News is predicting that Tester will win the race.
Rehberg released a statement Wednesday morning about the Senate race saying that he respects the decision of Montana voters, and "I congratulate Jon on his victory in this hard-fought campaign."
