McDade started 27 of 28 games last season for the Tigers of Fort Hays averaging 7.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. He shot .367 from the field and went .345 from three-point range and tallied 203 total points over the course of the season.

During his sophomore campaign at Sheridan College, he averaged 14.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.6 steals per game en route to being named to the All-Region 9 first team as well as the All-Region 9 Tournament team. He shot .355 from three-point range as he led the team with 61 three-pointers made and was ranked in the top-10 in the region with a .827 free throw percentage.

A member of the class of 2009 at Logan High School, McDade was named to the All-State and All-Region first teams as a senior and was the Valley Player of the Year. He averaged 16 points, five assists and five rebounds per game.

Coach Stevens on McDade: "Omar is a great addition to next year's squad. He is extremely versatile and has the ability to play multiple positions. I had the chance to coach against him when he was at Sheridan and he always played with great effort. We have had some good luck recruiting Sheridan College and Coach Steve Smiley's players with Antoine Proctor last year and now Jarrell Crayton and Omar. Omar's addition gives our team another experienced player and I think he will have a solid senior campaign."
