MISSOULA - There will be extra police on the roads in Missoula as thousands of fans converge on the Garden City for the annual Cat-Griz football game.
Missoula Police and the Montana Highway Patrol Traffic Safety Enforcement Team will be increasing DUI enforcement patrols, downtown patrols and party patrols this weekend.
The emphasis will be on Friday night through Saturday afternoon, following the University of Montana/Montana State University football game, according to a news release.
Law enforcement is looking to keep drunk drivers off the road, "and allow a safe and fun weekend for everyone attending the game and events downtown," the statement reads.
Police say that if they receive loud part complaints, they can site people and make arrests if they need to.
Those planning to drink alcohol should use a designated driver of make use of some of the other safe ride options in Missoula County.
