HELENA - An initiative to ban corporations from spending money in elections has enough signatures for the November ballot, but needs official approval before voters will see it.
The non-profit Stand With Montanans reports it's collected more than 40,000 signatures for I-166, which states corporations are not people and don't have a right to spend money to influence elections.
The initiatve isn't officially on the ballot until the Montana Secretary of State's office verifies the signatures.
