BILLINGS - Any great BBQ-Pro knows that the secret to a killer a meal is the sauce or rub behind it. Albertsons expert Monica Sayler joined us on the Noon News Friday to show us a couple sauces and marinades that will make our mouth water!
"We're talking meat, or rather how to add flavor and zing to your meat on the grill!" says Monica.
Pork Tenderloin Chimichurri
A Chimichurri marinade is an extremely flavorful marinade and sauce that goes great on pork tenderloin, chicken and steak. It uses all sorts of fresh herbs, so you'll sneak in some health benefits as well.
INSTRUCTIONS:
- For one pound of pork use about 3/4 cup chopped parsley, 3/4 cup chopped cilantro, ¼ cup loosely packed oregano leaves, one tablespoon fresh lime juice, a half tablespoon red wine vinegar, about 3 cloves of garlic a little salt and pepper and pulse it all a few times in a food processor until it's all finely chopped.
- After it's all combined stir in just a small pinch, about 1/8 teaspoon of red pepper flakes and a few tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, until it turns into a sauce- about the same consistency as a pesto sauce.
- Place the tenderloin in a zip lock bag with a little less than a half cup of the chimichurri and let it marinate for about an hour.
- Save the rest of the chimichurri to drizzle over your meat after it's grilled.
INGREDIENTS:
• One pound pork tenderloin
• ¾ cup chopped parsley
• ¾ cup chopped cilantro
• ¼ cup oregano leaves
• 1 tablespoon lime juice
• ½ tablespoon red wine vinegar
• 3 cloves of garlic, chopped
