Helena boat theft suspects quickly arrested

HELENA, MT - It didn't take long for authorities to locate a stolen boat on Tuesday.

The boat was reported missing from the 3000 block of Lake Helena Drive just after 7 a.m. Law enforcement officers found the boat near Three Forks just a few hours later.

Three people from the Butte-Bozeman area are charged with the theft and also drug charges.

The owner of the boat is currently in jail.

Lewis & Clark County Undersheriff Dave Rau said, "In this case actually the owner of the boat is in the state prison but somebody else has the power of attorney over the boat."

The three suspects are being held in Gallatin County.
