HELENA- The Healthy Montana Kids program is nearing its goal of insuring 100,000 children.
Currently more than 87,000 kids are enrolled in the government-funded low-income health program.
This fall, HMK officials sent out 25,000 postcards to Montana schools to let parents know about the program.
Anna Whiting Sorrell, director of the MT Department of Public Health & Human Services, says says it helps low-income families get the coverage they need.
"In Montana in the past two years, well over 17,000 kids are now covered with healthcare so that they can get the services that they need," Sorrell noted.
