MISSOULA- The Montana Grizzlies are still searching for a new offensive and defensive coordinator and now they have another spot to fill on their staff. Veteran running backs and associate head coach Mick Delaney is retiring after 44 years of coaching, including 29 at the college level.
The Butte native came to Missoula in 2008 after 15 seasons at Colorado State. He mentored Griz star Chase Reynolds, and helped bring along this year's group of runners. Head coach Robin Pflugrad says that Delaney was not just a great coach, but a better person, and he earned respect from every person involved in Grizzly athletics.
Pflugrad also says he plans on filling the open positions quickly, and could even name one new Grizzly assistant by early next week.
