KALISPELL - Kalispell Public Schools has announced that they will officially launch their Graduation Matters Kalispell program on Feb. 1.
All area eighth grade students who are attending partner schools in the Kalispell School District will be taking part in the program.
Organizers have been busing planning the event since November and say kids will hear from a University of Montana guest speaker, treated to lunch, some carnival games and will even be able to get rid of some of their energy by showing off their dance moves.
Graduation Matters programs already exist in 18 other Montana communities, and began as a Missoula County Public Schools initiative in 2010.
