HELENA - Governor Steve Bullock (D-MT) vetoed his first bill on Tuesday saying it interferes with his plan to fix the state's pension crisis.

Bullock vetoed House Bill 18, a bill which transfers $3.6 million per year from the state's general fund to a special account which pays for research projects around the state.

The bill received overwhelming support in both the House and Senate with only nine lawmakers voting against it.

However, Bullock says the bill conflicts with another bill that fixes the pension system, House Bill 454. That bill is still sitting in the pension committee waiting for a vote.
