A one-vehicle crash just north of Conrad has killed one person and left another with serious injuries.
The accident happened just after 5 p.m. on Thursday night on Interstate 15 near mile marker 348, several miles north of Conrad.
Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Kurt Miller tells us the southbound pickup went off the road, hitting the concrete column at the overpass of the Valier Highway.
The female passenger from Glendive died on impact.
The male driver from Bozeman was trapped inside the pick-up, which caught fire.
Pondera County crews rescued the man using the "jaws of life."
He was airlifted by Mercy Flight to Benefis hospital in Great Falls; the nature and extent of his injuries is not yet known.
Trooper Miller says both occupants were wearing seat belts, and says that speed may have been a factor.
Authorities have not released any names at this point.
