BILLINGS - A Glendive girl with a rare genetic disease is representing Montana in Washington DC.
Abryanna Nelson, 11, was treated at Shodair Children's Hospital in Helena for an inherited disease called Friedreich's ataxia. Shodair is one of 170 Children's Miracle Network hospitals in the country.
This year Abryanna was chosen as the Montana Champion Child for bravely fighting her disease. Abryanna and her family are in Washington DC meeting with President Barack Obama, Senators Max Baucus and Jon Tester.
About 17 million children are treated each year at Children's Miracle Network hospitals across the country.
