BOZEMAN - Franke Wilmer will be running as the Democratic candidate for the House District 63 seat.
Marty Livingston recently withdrew from the race, and just last night, the Gallatin County Democratic Committee voted unanimously for Wilmer to take her place.
Wilmer made the official announcement earlier today at the Gallatin County Labor Temple in front of about 25 supporters.
She outlined what she sees as her strengths.
"I am going to do what I've done before, work with the governor, a Democrat, I hope, and legislatures from both parties, both houses, from both sides to strengthen our economy, to support public education, and to make sure that when we develop our industry resources that we do it responsibly."
Wilmer will be facing incumbent Republican Tom Burnett.
We tried multiple times to reach Burnett for comment, but not successful today.
