HELENA - The race to become the next Attorney General of Montana is little more crowded, with Tim Fox announcing his candidacy on Monday.
"Montanans deserve an Attorney General who will join the lawsuit against the job-killing, budget busting federal healthcare law, protect our individual freedoms, and make our kids' safety a priority by cracking down on sexual offenders. In the coming months, I look forward to visiting with voters in every corner of our state to share my message of leadership, constitutional governance, state's rights, better public schools through responsible development of our natural resources, government transparency, and hard work," Fox, a Republican, said in a press release.
Fox was the Republican nominee for AG in 2008 and lost a close election to current Attorney General Steve Bullock.
Fox was born and raised in Hardin, and graduated from the University of Montana with degrees in geology and law.
Tim and his wife, Karen, currently reside in Montana City and have four grown children and a grandchild.
MT State Senator Jim Shockley (R-Victor) announced his candidacy for the AG position several days ago.
