Firefighters battle blaze in Lockwood

UPDATED - The Yellowstone Sheriff's Office says the fire was started after some people were doing some work at the junk yard and metal grinded, causing sparks to fly. A grass fire started shortly thereafter and got out of control. It spread to a structure that was housing a large amount of cars and caught fire.

The fire jumped Island Park Rd. and caught something on fire. Firefighters were able to protect one nearby structure.

The Lockwood, Worden and Billings Fire Departments are all on scene.

BILLINGS- Firefighters from multiple agencies in Yellowstone County are fighting a quick moving grass fire in Lockwood. The Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office says the fire is primarily burning at a junk yard at 75 Cerise Rd., which is a few miles behind the MetraPark. The fire has caused some of the cars to explode.

Q2 David Jay has been at the scene since 1:15 pm and says an hour later,it appears that firefighters are getting the upper hand on the fire.
