BIG TIMBER, MT - Fire crews left the scene of the Cheatham Wildfire about six miles west of Big Timber, around 4:00 Friday afternoon.
The fire started at 6:30 Thursday evening, west of the DeHart Trail interchange, near mile marker 361 on Interstate 90.
The fire burned about 300 acres south of the interstate.
No structures were threatened.
Sweet Grass County Department of Emergency Services Coordinator, Brooke Osen says a set of dual tires on a semi- trailer apparently fell off, and ignited the fire.
Fire crews from Big Timber, Melville, McLeod, Park County, Stillwater County and the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation assisted with fighting the fire.
