Fire crews quickly contain Squaw Creek Fire near Worden

UPDATE: The Squaw Creek Fire near Worden is 100% contained.

Fire managers send aerial resources to a new fire out by Worden, Montana Wednesday.

The Department of Natural Resources' Paula Short says the Squaw Creek Fire started along Squaw Creek Road earlier this afternoon and quickly spread in grass, juniper, and sage. A D-N-R-C helicopter and two Canadian Convair air tankers responded to the blaze, quickly knocking it back and slowing the spread.

Short says the fire is estimated at 40-50 acres Wednesday night. No structures are threatened, and no evacuations are ordered.

The cause of the Squaw Creek Fire is unknown; a fire investigator is on scene.
