HELENA - Montana is receiving a $2 million federal grant for training K-12 teachers on how to better instruct in math and science, which in turn will help prepare students for jobs of the future.

Montana Superintendent of Public Instruction Denise Juneau gave an example: "Partnership between Bozeman Public schools and Montana State University, they will develop a training system, they'll bring teachers in from the system who will become experts in math and then they will go out regionally and train other teachers across the state, and so pretty soon you'll have this big pool of teachers that are ready to do a lot of training back onsite at their own school systems."

The grants will be divided over three years, with about $335,000 each year for both math and science.
