Entry deadlines near for State Games basketball, shooting

BILLINGS - Entry deadlines for several Big Sky State Games sports are quickly approaching. Adult Basketball, Youth Basketball and some Shooting events all have entry deadlines earlier than the official July 9 deadline shared by other sports.
The Adult Basketball and the Scholastic (Youth) Basketball deadline is Friday, June 22. The adult division will consist of men's and women's open and elite divisions as well as men's masters. The Scholastic tournament will feature girls and boys teams going into grades 5th -12th grade (as of Sept. 2012). Some teams begin play Friday, July 20 and all teams will play July 21 & 22. Both Adult and Scholastic Basketball are sponsored by NorthWestern Energy.
Shooting entries are due by July 1 for Bullseye, Silhouette and Muzzle Loading events. All other Shooting events and most State Games sports have a July 9 entry deadline. The Shooting competitions take place July 21 & 22. Rifle Pistol will be at the Yellowstone Rifle Club, Laurel Riverside City Park, and Billings Rod and Gun Club. The Shotgun events are at Billings Trap Club, Blue Creek Sport Shooting Complex and the Billings Rod and Gun Club. Shooting is sponsored by Scheels.
