BILLINGS - Billings police are investigating an accident that left a garbage truck on its side and blocked traffic along South Billings Blvd.

The accident happened just before 3pm near the intersection of Midland Road and south Billings Boulevard.  The driver at the wheel of a Mckenzie River Disposal truck told police he was coming off the I-90 exit ramp between King Avenue East and Midland road, when the truck had brake problems.
He tried to slow down, but the truck veered right, hit the median and flipped on its side.

The driver had to be helped out through the vehicle's windshield and was taken to St. Vincent Healthcare. The extent of the drivers injuries are unknown.Police said alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

Traffic was directed around the accident site, while three tow trucks teamed up to get the garbage truck back on its wheels, and off the roadway.

I seen this happen with my own two eyes. Talk about scary! I seen the fear in the drivers eyes right before he tipped. :( I felt so helpless and so bad for the guy! My thoughts and prayers are with him!
