BILLINGS - Yellowstone County officials say they are receiving an outpouring of people who want to help the neglected horses.
The county has set up a staging area in the NILE offices at MetraPark. An effort is being coordinated through the Department of Livestock, the NILE volunteer personnel and the Sheriff's Office. Right now, the organization is in need of water troughs that are at least 100 gallons or more and water tanks that they can load onto pickups.
In a few days, they will need other donations, such as grass hay, alfalfa mix hay. They do not need grain or pure aflalfa because the horses are unable to process it at this time. For more information, call NILE offices at 256-2495.
