Dense fog rolled into northeast Montana Thursday night and will hang around for several more hours.
A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for much of northeast Montana, including central & southern Valley County until 11 a.m. Saturday.
Typically, fog dissipates once the air in the atmosphere begins to mix during the morning hours.
However, this layer of dense fog is stuck underneath an area of high pressure and is not moving.
Through late Saturday morning, visibilities are expected to drop below 1/4 of a mile, creating hazardous travel conditions.
Travelers should slow down, use low beams and increase the following distances when encountering fog.

The whiter shading on the eastern side of the Treasure State is the dense fog.
