Laramie, Wyo. - University of Wyoming's Cowboy Joe Club set an all-time record this year by raising more than $330,000 at it's major fund raising event.
The 26th Annual Cowboy Joe Club Auction proceeds will be used for student-athlete scholarships and resources. This year's benifit surpasses the previous record by more than $25,000.
A sold-out crowd of 600 Wyoming fans from across the region attended this year's auction, held at the Little America Hotel in Cheyenne, Wyo. Popular items included: a package to explore Napa Valley wineries; a trip to New York City to see the Knicks, Rangers and a Broadway show; 2013 Wyoming at Nebraska sideline passes; Los Angeles Lakers tickets in owner and UW alum Dr. Jerry Buss' suite; a 2012 Polaris Ranger 800 utility vehicle; a Hawaiian Vacation; an All-Star Baseball package; Phoenix Open tickets with unlimited Arizona golf; a Boston Red Sox package; a VIP Experience to see Wyoming at Nebraska; a pre-game helicopter ride; a custom Wyoming Athletics Poker table; an opportunity to attend your favorite NASCAR race; and the world famous Cast and Blast package at Crazy Rainbow in Casper, Wyo.
Next year's Cowboy Joe Club auction is tentatively scheduled for Friday, Sept. 14, 2013, in Cheyenne. The next major special event for the Cowboy Joe Club is the Annual online auction, to be held the entire month of February 2013 at www.wyomingathletics.com.
