BILLINGS - Four years after making world music headlines, a Red Lodge/Billings country singer is headed to federal prison - for wire fraud and money laundering.

On Thursday, U.S. District Judge Richard Cebull sentenced Mitchell John Romersa to four years in prison.

The 51-year old Romersa, who performs under the name Mitchell John, admits to convincing an elderly widow to loan him $220,000 dollars.

He used $100,000 to pay personal debts and unlawfully used the other $120,000 for personal expenses.

The widow, did not know Romersa's two businesses had dissolved some six months earlier.
