Collision between motorcycles near Red Lodge kills one man, injures another

BILLINGS- One man is dead and another man is in critical condition tonight after their motorcycles collided south of Red Lodge on Saturday.

The Montana Highway Patrol says that the crash took place shortly after 1p.m. on Saturday, when a motorcycle driver from Iowa was driving southbound toward Red Lodge when he swerved for an unknown reason, hitting a motorcyclist from Florida who was traveling northbound.

Both men were tossed from their motorcycles.

Montana Highway Patrol says both were taken by ambulance to the Beartooth Medical Center (Billings Clinic) in Red Lodge, where the driver from Iowa was pronounced dead.

The other man remains in critical condition.

Montana Highway Patrol says they do not believe speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.
