Coaches pick Rocky Volleyball 2nd

SALT LAKE CITY - Look out for Lewis-Clark State again on the volleyball court. The defending regular season champions received six first place votes as preseason coaches favorite's for the 2012-13 season. Conference tournament champion Rocky Mountain College received one first place vote edging third place Carroll College by one in the pre-season poll. The Saints also received one first place vote. Montana State Northern is sixth followed by Montana Western, Montana Tech and conference newcomer Dickinson State.

Westminster finished fourth last season with an 8-6 record in Frontier Conference play. They return 11 players, including all six starters and the libero from the 2011 squad. The Griffins will begin the 2012 season at the Paul Elliott Invitational on August 17-18. They open with matches against Oregon Tech and Cal-Merced on the opening day.

Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own teams. First place was worth eight points, second place worth seven points, third place worth six points, fourth place worth five points, fifth place worth four points, sixth place worth three points, seventh place worth two points and eighth place worth one point.
