HARDIN, Mont. - The city of Hardin fired police chief Jeffrey Arntz and officer Francesca Brashear.
City Councilman Kenton Kepp says Arntz and Brashear were fired on Tuesday but he can not comment on the reason.
Mayor Kim Hammond told the Big Horn County News, "the probation period was nearing and things were not working out."
The newspaper also reported that budget issues played a role in Arntz's resignation as Police chief in Buckner, Missouri.
When asked if anything from Arntz's previous job led to his termination in Hardin, Kepp said "no comment."
He had the same reply when asked about any investigation in Hardin.
According to Kepp, the city council has not approved any termination for a third officer, who has been on K-9 training in Pennsylvania, and is expected to return tonight.
