Coach Van Diest Quote:
"We are very excited about these 8 student-athletes joining our program. They have the qualities that have made Carroll College successful both on the football field and in the classroom. Linder and Hamel are outstanding athletes and have tremendous arm strength. They both possess the size and running ability that Coach Howlett likes in a Quarter Back. We wanted to target taller receivers in this class and McGill fits that description. He is an outstanding athlete with size, speed, and great hands. Budler was an outstanding two way player for Chandler High School and the fact that he plays basketball says a lot about his athletic ability. He could play either in the offensive or defensive line. Babcock is a diamond in the rough and he will be a very good defensive lineman in the future. The fact that he is a wrestler shows his toughness and his passion. I am very excited to add Ler, Koslosky, and Basterrechea to the defensive side of the ball here at Carroll College. All three have tremendous speed for their positions. They are tough and play with great intensity and focus; they fill needs at all three levels- defensive line, linebacker, and secondary. We will look to add another 18 to 20 athletes to this recruiting class in the near future." Coach Van Diest would add. Mike Van Diest recently completed his 13th season at Carroll College with the Saints' 12th straight Frontier Conference title, and 8th trip to the NAIA National Championship game.
