BUTTE, MT - Tara O'Donnell, 27, is charged with felony aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
Law enforcement responded to a stabbing at the 400 block of North Idaho Street around 2 yesterday afternoon.
O'Donnell's estranged boyfriend was in the process of moving his belongings out of the resident when a domestic altercation broke out.
She allegedly stabbed the man in the upper back with a large butcher knife inside the house.
The man walked to the neighbors house for help, then collapsed in the street.
He is in stable condition at the intensive care unit at St. James Healthcare center.
Sheriff John Walsh says the cause of the stabbing is still under investigation.
"You have social interaction between people and sometimes it goes array-people that have a relationship and then it starts to break up and people get mad about it."
O'Donnell was placed on $75,000 bond.
She is also being held on a $40,000 bond for a Jefferson County warrant.
