BILLINGS - Montana Attorney General Steve Bullock is running for Governor-at least so it appears online.
A domain for a website named www.BullockForGovernor.com was registered to Kevin O'Brien through godaddy.com.
O'Brien, who is the Communications Director for Bullock, registered the domain name on February 24th.
Bullock has until March 12th, 2012 to officially file for his candidacy if he plans on running for the office.
O'Brien sent Q2 the following statement about the domain name:
"While it's no secret that Steve has been encouraged by many Montanans to consider running for Governor, he has made no decision on how to continue his public service. Purchasing domain names is simply a smart move given all the hi-jinks and dirty campaigning out there."
Current Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer is prevented by term limits from running for a third term, and already, as many as five governor hopefuls have announced plans to seek the state's top political job.
Missoula democratic state senator Dave Wanzenried has announced his intentions, while four republicans have tossed their hats into the ring. They include former Montana Congressman Rick Hill, former state senators Corey Stapleton and Ken Miller, and Neil Livingstone, an international terrorism expert who is a Helena native.
